Digestive Disease Specialists of the Palm Beaches is a comprehensive quality driven Gastroenterology and Hepatology practice founded in 2007. The practice is primarily hospital based but offers extensive outpatient consultation and services. Dr. Michael Monzel offers close to sixty years of experience in Gastroenterology practice. Dr. Aviv Katz, who has trained at the University of Miami, joined the practice in 2010.

We offer specialty expertise in almost all aspects of digestive disease care. Our specialty interests include care for complicated inflammatory bowel disease and chronic liver diseases including treatment of chronic hepatitis. We plan on providing an esophageal assessment center in conjunction with some of our surgical colleagues in the near future. The practice is very involved with teaching within the internal medicine residency program which is part of the Miller School of Medicine of the University of Miami at JFK Medical Center.

Please welcome Dr. Carlos Leon. Dr. Leon has been practicing Gastroenterology since 2003, and joined the Digestive Disease Center in 2010. He is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology, and belongs to the American Gastroenterological Association, the American College of Gastroenterology, and the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy.
